“Without the distance learning programs and night and weekend courses at Nova Southeastern University’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services, I would never have been able to earn my master’s degree. At the time, I was a single mother and I couldn’t afford the luxury of a traditional route to an advanced diploma. I simply didn’t have the time or financial flexibility. The access to education provided by the Fischler School was truly a blessing to me, and as principal of JFK Middle School, my goal is to provide that same access to all our students.

In today’s society, my situation is not uncommon. I believe our job as educators is to meet the needs of our students at every level possible and at times that are convenient for them.
