Broward Virtual University’s partnership with the Fischler School is designed to provide educators with a unique educational experience, accessible at their convenience. Our partnership offers students the opportunity to apply up to 12 Reading Endorsement credits, taken through Broward Virtual University, towards a Master’s of Science in Education with a specialization in Reading Education.

Tuition and Fees

  1. Admission Application Fee of $50.00 (non-refundable).*
  2. Registration Fee of $30.00 per term.*
  3. Student Services Fee of $250.00 per term for students enrolled in two or more courses for a combined total of four or more credits, not to exceed $750.00 per [academic] year.*
  4. 2010/2011 GTEP Tuition $645.00 per credit hour*

Other Fees: $375.00 Transfer of Course Credit Acceptance* ($125.00 per credit will be assessed for each course accepted).

Admission Application for BVU Students

Applying to the Fischler School is simple.  Application instructions and admission criteria for the Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Reading Education program can be found on the application. 

All Broward County teacher applicants must meet the Graduate Teacher Education Program (GTEP) admission requirements. (See admission application.) Course credit from Broward Schools will only be accepted by Nova Southeastern University upon successful completion of all NSU/GTEP program requirements for the degree. These requirements include all certification and testing requirements for degree completion.

Admission

Step 1: Complete the Graduate Teacher Education Program (GTEP) admissions application form provided in its entirety.

Step 2: Remit with the application the $50.00 application fee (non-refundable).

Step 3: Mail or fax the admission application form to:

Registration

Before attempting to register, please allow three business days for processing of your admission application. Upon notification of acceptance, you will be eligible to register for GTEP courses. Additional information will be provided in your admission packet.

Step 1: Review the contents of your admission packet.

Step 2: Read the Getting Started insert for details on how to obtain your NSU ID and register for classes.

Step 3: Get Advised! As a potential graduate of GTEP, it is necessary to complete the advising process with an academic advisor. Allow our trained advisors assist you with reviewing the program of study for Reading Education.

Step 4: Following successful completion of the program requirements, complete the Broward Course Verification Form. The form must be faxed to NSU’s Fischler School of Education & Human Services, Office of Student Services at: (954) 262-3883. Do not forget to have the Broward Virtual University Coordinator sign the Course Verification Form and include the in-service record that bears evidence that hours have been completed.
