Professional Development & Training Services

NIEO has been a resource to the school choice and reform movement since 1998 and we envision being a one-stop-shop for charter school resources and school reform education.  NIEO provides experienced expert technical assistance, training, and resources to charter schools, magnet schools, nonpublic schools, and policy makers.

Charter School Leadership Institute
Take advantage of our Charter School Leadership Institute.  The Charter School Leadership Institute seeks to build the capacity of attendees as leaders to enhance performance in the areas of leadership and business practices. NIEO is planning a much expanded role as a facilitator of entrepreneurship in both policy and business.  The program engages participants in evidence-based work in effective educational practices that include teacher effectiveness, curriculum innovations, and measurable student gains.  Additionally, the institute will present business practices such as finance and operation, leadership and governance, public policy, constituent relations, and human capital alignment, and exposure to different kinds of business models to successfully operate private schools and public charter schools. NIEO seeks to address the need to build the skills of charter school leaders to fulfill their important responsibilities as instructional leaders, entrepreneurs, non-profit executives, and community innovators.

Parent Trainings
Different Levels of Parent Involvement (DLOPI) is a parent program with five training modules designed to encourage parents to become and stay involved in their child’s education, whether at school or at home. In addition, the DLOPI program provides training for teachers to use a simple computerized software format for determining parents’ participation level by assessing the student’s classroom performance and behaviors as measured by the parent or guardian’s interaction with their child and in their education.
