
The master of science in medical education is designed to help university physician faculty members and community clinical preceptors develop and enhance their professional education and teaching skills, as well as heighten their ability to facilitate the learning process of students and residents. This three-year program was developed in collaboration with NSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. Learning outcomes for this program are based on the Professional Competencies for the Teachers of the Twenty-First Century, developed by the Florida Education Standards Commission, Florida Department of Education, Tallahassee, Florida.

Individuals with terminal degrees in any health professions field who wish to obtain master’s degrees in medical education
or
Physician assistants or nursing faculty members who wish to obtain master’s degrees in medical education

Completed admission application packet, including nonrefundable application fee made payable to Nova Southeastern University
Official transcript indicating conferral of a bachelor’s degree by a regionally accredited institution (2.5 minimum cumulative grade point average required)
Official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions
A letter of appointment to the faculty of the applicant’s school

Coursework for the master of science in medical education is conducted entirely online. This approach allows students to receive and submit coursework and interact with participants and professors via the Internet. This distance delivery option allows busy professionals to complete their degrees without having to leave their jobs or travel long distances.
