The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree is designed to foster in depth application of knowledge and skills, inquiry and research, problem solving, collaboration and professional development.  The program is not designed to meet the New Jersey Department of Education professional standards for school leaders or professional standards for teachers.  The Doctor of Education degree is not synonymous with a certification program. Prospective students considering professional licensure should make inquires to the New Jersey Department of Education for the current certification requirements.
